Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
1. Introduction
Morse Code Live ("we," "our," or "us") operates morsecodelive.com (the "Site"), a free website with Morse code and NATO phonetic alphabet tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Site, how it is used, and what choices you have.
2. What Stays in Your Browser
Our tools run in your web browser. This includes:
- Morse Code Translator: the text or Morse code you enter, and the sound, flashlight lamp, vibration, and WAV file it produces.
- Morse Audio Translator: audio files you choose from your device, and microphone sound if you allow it.
- NATO phonetic alphabet tools: the speller, the quiz, and the PDF you can download.
- Learn Morse tools: the ear trainer and the drills.
None of this content is sent to our servers. We do not receive, record, or store it. Audio files are opened on your device only. If you use the microphone, your browser asks for your permission first. The sound is held briefly in your browser's memory while it is analyzed, and then dropped. Nothing is recorded or uploaded. You can withdraw microphone permission at any time in your browser settings. The Site does not ask for access to your camera or your location.
3. Information We Do Not Ask For
The Site has no accounts, registration, comments, or forms. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, or payment details.
4. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically by our hosting provider and by the third-party services described below. This may include:
- your IP address and the approximate location it indicates;
- browser type and version, device type, operating system, screen size, and language;
- pages visited, the page that referred you, and the date, time, and length of your visit; and
- cookie identifiers and advertising identifiers.
Our hosting provider processes requests to deliver the Site and protect it from attacks, and may keep standard server logs for that purpose. Google Analytics and Google AdSense collect information as explained in Sections 7 and 8. Our own code does not set cookies.
5. Information You Send Us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to read and respond to your message.
6. Data Stored on Your Device
Some tools save small items in your browser's local storage so they work better on your next visit. These are your best scores in the quiz and the ear trainer, and whether you dismissed a vibration tip. This data stays in your browser. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it. You can erase it at any time by clearing your site data in your browser settings. Clearing it resets your saved scores.
7. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are popular and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your device and browser details, approximate location, and the pages you visit. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. We use the results only in aggregate to improve the Site.

8. Advertising and Cookies (Google AdSense)
We may use Google AdSense to display ads on the Site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info (United States) or www.youronlinechoices.com (EU and UK).
- To learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We do not control the cookies or data practices of these third parties. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may change how ads appear, but the tools on the Site will keep working.
9. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- run, maintain, and improve the Site and its tools;
- understand how the Site is used;
- show advertising, if we use it, that helps pay for the Site;
- respond to your emails; and
- protect the Site against abuse and security problems.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
10. How We Share Information
We share information only in these ways:
- Service providers: our hosting provider, Google Analytics, and Google AdSense, as described above.
- Legal reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of others.
- Share buttons: if you click Share on WhatsApp, Facebook, X, or Telegram, that service opens in a new tab and receives the page link and share text. Its own privacy policy applies. We do not receive information back from these services. The Copy buttons only place text on your device's clipboard.
- External links: the Site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
11. Data Retention
We do not store anything you enter into our tools. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable records. Data collected by Google and our hosting provider is kept under their own retention policies.
12. International Visitors
The Site can be reached from anywhere in the world. Information collected by our service providers may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States, which may have different data protection laws.
13. Your Privacy Rights
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR and UK GDPR). You may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
California and other US states (CCPA, CPRA, and similar laws). Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, but advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under some laws. You can opt out through Google Ads Settings and your browser, as described in Section 8. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
To use any of these rights, email us at support@morsecodelive.com. Because we do not collect data that directly identifies you, most of the data described above is held by Google or our hosting provider, and we may need to point you to them.
14. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email support@morsecodelive.com and we will delete it.
15. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the Site, including serving it over HTTPS. Because the tools run in your browser, what you enter never travels to our servers. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back now and then.
